Living Downstream is a program for people who'd like to learn about environmental topics of interest in the Umpqua Watershed of southern Oregon and the larger Pacific Northwest region. It is coordinated by the AmeriCorps member serving as the Environmental Education & Outreach Leader for the Umpqua Watershed organization in an effort to bring awareness of environmental issues to a wider audience.

This episode is the first of a series of climate related episodes of Living Downstream that will be airing once to twice a month. In this episode, several members of the Umpqua Watersheds team, including Executive Director Kasey Hovik, Conservation and Legal Director Angela Jensen, and Director of Education and Outreach Ryan Kincaid share what got them involved in the topic of and fight against climate change. They cover some basics about what climate change is and how people affect it as well as how it effects people. They delve into some misconceptions about climate change and offer some of their unique perspectives and knowledge about the topic overall.
